Royal School District proudly announces the appointment of Mr. Karl Edie as the new principal of Royal Intermediate School, beginning with the start of the 2024-2025 school year. Mr. Edie brings a wealth of experience and a passion for education to his new role, having served in various capacities within the field for nearly two decades.
Prior to joining Royal Intermediate School, Mr. Edie has served as the Regional Attendance and Reengagement Coordinator at Educational Service District (ESD) 105 in Yakima since 2022. Before his tenure at ESD 105, he spent nine years as an elementary school principal in the Wahluke School District. His educational journey also includes valuable experiences as an elementary teacher and superintendent of Starbuck School District.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the appointment, Royal School District Superintendent Roger Trail remarked, "Mr. Edie has an impressive background in education, having served as an educator, administrator, and advocate for student success. His commitment to fostering a positive learning environment aligns perfectly with the school’s mission. We believe that his leadership will enhance the educational experience for our students, staff, and families."
As the new principal of Royal Intermediate School, Mr. Edie is looking forward to working collaboratively with staff and families to continue the school’s proud traditions.
